When Michael Bay’s first Transformers film hit the scene, I found myself kind of disappointed in the soundtrack. Not that it was bad — Linkin Park’s “What I’ve Done?” did strangely fit to my ear — as Steve Jablonsky’s score was actually pretty good, but I completely would have nerded out if the composer had managed to sneak in the recognizable theme.
I guess that’s why my ears naturally perk up to Ominous Voice’s Orchestra remix of the classic Transformers theme.
Yes, you’ll likely hum “Robots In Disguise” when that familiar hook appears, but Voice’s attempt and bridging the cartoon theme and Jablonsky’s score work is remarkable as the remix comes off as majestic as Optimus Prime rallying the troops with a battle speech.
